Proof that Debix saves people’s credit lives.
A doctor became a customer of Debix in 2003. A few months later, the doctor was called on her mobile phone and notified that some one tried to access her business account on-line. The card was canceled and that was the end of the matter. Right?
Wrong. The next day the Debix Identity Protection Network launched an investigation into the incident. The identity thief was continuing to try to steal what ever they could. Over the next twenty days, this criminal tried over ten different time to open new accounts and take over existing accounts.
This thief was nearly unstoppable. They tried to take over several accounts at large chain stores as well as the doctors mobile phone account.
The identity theft prevention team at Debix stopped further attempts to open new accounts in the doctor’s name at several other stores as well.
This criminal was so bold as to call up one of the credit reporting agencies and tried to change the contact information for the account.
The Debix Identity Protection Network system was able to stop this attack and keep the doctors information safe. No further attempts have been tried on this account.
The way Debix works is that it notifies creditors to make sure the the customers credit is intact and safe. They also help to make sure that there is no financial loss of any type.
Most likely a person that is going through such an attack would have questions. The Debix Identity Protection Network system was there for the doctor to answer questions, give support and further advise the client through one of life’s hardest times.
“The biggest help that Debix provides is that one person is assigned to help with the case. She was so helpful and held my hand through this whole mess.”
The attacks have since stopped and the credit reporting agencies have been notified. It is very hard to understand how this criminal got a copy of the Doctor’s credit information. Some of the information the thief was able to acquire was the Doctor’s credit card information, her social security number, her mobile phone number and even her mothers’ maiden name!
Now the doctor does a few things differently.
- Become much more careful and through when shredding vital information.
- Do not leave mail in her mailbox, she rents a Post Office box.
- Do not give out your Social Security Number.
- Do not use the same password for all your accounts on-line.
The doctor was very happy she joined Debix and was able to tell others about their great customer service, their excellent work, and how much they really cared about her.
Identity theft is a big problem that does not seem to have a solution. The best was to protect ourselves is to be smart, be careful and if the identity theft company seems like a good fit for you, use them.
