Stimulus Check?Identity Theft?

I just found out on the IRS site that I dont qualify because somebody claimed me as a dependent which is not true. I am single no children No Xs and my mothe stopped claiming me 27 years ago. Should I be looking in to Identity theft?

Not necessarily…you need to contact the IRS and tell them that no one has the right to claim you as a dependent on their taxes and they will look and find out who it is. Any ideas who it could be? They’ll start an investigation and when it’s found out who they will prosecute and you’ll eventually get your money if you are eligible.

did you claim yourself as a dependant?

The drama is just pouring out of this question… I’ll pass thanks.

Good Luck with that!

I know you can not donothing. The IRS will tell you that the money has been disbursed from them, and you need to find out how to get it from them.
